November 4, 2022

Dear PAWS Families,

Thank you for taking the time to participate in parent/teacher conferences this week!  It was a pleasure to see parents in the building in person! I hope you were able to learn about your child’s progress at PAWS and how much we value the home and school communication and connection. Thank you to all of our staff for the time, effort and preparation dedicated to preparing for the conferences!

Reminder: The first Sunday in November signals the end of Daylight Saving Time.  Please remember to turn your clocks back one hour on Sunday, November 6th.

Fall 2022 Invitation to PAWS Conversations with the School Committee

Monday, November 7, 2022 – 6:30pm-7:30pm

You are invited to join a Zoom with Superintendent, Dr. David Lussier, two School Committee members, and members of our school’s community. The SC members will discuss what they’ve been working on then will open it up to questions from families. I will be on hand to answer any building specific questions and Dr. Lussier will be available to answer any district-specific questions you may have. I have sent the Zoom link to you in a separate email.

I look forward to seeing a wonderful group of PAWS parents join together on Monday night at 6:30pm.

Messages from the Nurse

Hello PAWS families,

I wanted to let you know that I’ll be doing the required vision screenings starting next week and hope to complete all classes by mid November.

I will send home a written letter to you if I notice anything that requires follow up.

Stay well,

Zinta

Pumpkin Donations

As some of you may know, I am a volunteer at the Unity Farm Sanctuary in Sherborn, MA. They have over 250 animals including alpacas, llamas, horses, ponies, miniature horses, sheep, cows, goats, pigs and a vast array of feathered friends. My favorites are the cows – nothing greater than seeing a cow roll around a pumpkin and then smile at you with an orange face! Later in the winter they have minty breath from eating donated Christmas trees.

The farm collects pumpkins in the fall to feed to the animals (and use this surplus well into January). I will be collecting whole UNCARVED pumpkins a couple of times this month – Mon 11/7, Mon 11/14. Please bring in your whole uncarved pumpkins that are clean and have not been decorated with feathers, glue, or paint.

You may visit the farm virtually with live cams/ animal bios or sign up for a tour (sign up in advance, they fill up quickly) or a preschool story time tour. It’s a wonderful sanctuary in the middle of this hectic world, there are also trails around the farm if you want to make a day of it.

Pumpkins can be left on the front walkway at PAWS and I will bring them to the farm!

Thank you,

Zinta
