New Safety Resource Officer

The Town of Wellesley has hired a second Safety Resource Officer for the Wellesley Public Schools, Officer Kathy Poirier.  Officer Evan Rosenberg will now be working primarily at Wellesley Middle School and Wellesley High School.  Officer Poirier will be working primarily at the seven elementary schools.  You may notice Officer Poirier’s police cruiser at Bates on a regular basis, as she will be working to develop relationships with students, families and staff.  We are excited to welcome Officer Poirier to the Bates School.

Elementary Handbook and The Bates Insider’s Guide

Thank you to our families who have updated their information in Powerschool already.  In this process you were asked to review the Elementary Student Handbook and read and discuss with your child the district’s Acceptable Use Policy, on page 38 of the Elementary Student Handbook.  I have attached links for you to review these documents if you have not done so already.  In addition, the Bates Insider’s Guide provides information for families about the Bates School.  Hard copies of the Insider’s Guide will be distributed to all new families at Bates.  Links to the Elementary Handbook and the Insider’s Guide are available on the WPS website and Bates School website as well.
