Dear Parents and Guardians,
October is here! In the coming weeks there are several opportunities I would like to highlight.
New Parent Coffee and PTO Meeting

Please join Dr. Joan Dabrowski, Assistant Superintendent for Teaching & Learning along with members of the K-5 Standards-Based Report Card Steering Committee for:
An Introduction to the Wellesley Public Schools K-5 Standards-Based Report Card (SBRC)
OPTION ONE: Tuesday, October 15th, 6:15pm, WMS Library
OPTION TWO: Thursday, October 17th, 9:00am, Wellesley Community Center
At this session, parents/guardians will learn about the SBRC development process, the SBRC features, and how it will be implemented during SY19-20. We hope you can join us!
Where in the world is Tux the Penguin?
Tux the Bates mascot is hoping to travel the world. On Wednesday, Tux visited during our all-school community meeting and asked the Bates students to help plan his travels. Each student can take part in Tux’s adventures by filling out the form Where in the World is Tux the Penguin? Each week a new country will be highlighted by sharing about the country during morning announcements. Students will have the chance to guess where Tux and learn about the world. Students can share about a country where they or a family member are from, a country they have visited or a country they are interested in. Parents and guardians are encouraged to participate in this learning experience by helping their child to complete the form at home.
