Dear Bates Families,
Thank you for the enthusiastic and thoughtful recognition of the Bates educators during Teacher Appreciation Week last week. The teachers were surprised and delighted by the balloons, treats and special notes written by your children and compiled by the PTO. We thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful luncheon on Wednesday, too. We were able to eat outside in the courtyard all together, which is a special treat. Thank you for all of your thoughtfulness in recognizing our teachers.
Congratulations to our grade 3, 4 and 5 students who finished their first MCAS tests this week. They worked really hard! Thank you to families for ensuring your child had a charged iPad for the MCAS test. We have a break in testing next week and then will take the Math and Science MCAS tests the following week. The dates are included below.
Finally, every year, each public school and school district in Massachusetts receives a report card. Just as your child’s report card shows how they are doing in different subjects, the school’s report card is designed to show families how our school is doing in a variety of different areas. A link to our school’s report card is available at:

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Warm regards,
Toni Jolley
