Dear HunneBates,
October is here! It’s an exciting month at HunneBates for many reasons.
Wednesday, October 4: International Walk, Ride and Roll Day
Please consider walking, riding a bike or scooter or taking the bus to school tomorrow.
Using transportation options other than cars can help ease traffic congestion and help families build lifelong healthy habits.
Bates School Council
The Bates School Council is a representative, school building-based committee composed of the principal, parents, teachers and a community member. We currently have one parent position and one community member position open on the Bates School Council. If you are interested in helping to improve the Bates School, please consider joining the Bates School Council. In addition, the School Council is an opportunity for parents, teachers and community members to feel united and collaboratively explore issues related to the district’s initiatives, the home school relationship, student safety and school climate. Meetings are held monthly and our first meeting will be Tuesday, October 24 at 3:15. Please email me at jolleya@wellesleyps.org if you are interested in serving on the School Council. Members serve a two year term.
Upcoming Fall Conferences
Next week I will send an email to all families on Wednesday, October 11 at 11:00 am with links to sign up for a fall conference with your child’s teacher. We hope all families will take advantage of this opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher.
As a reminder, there is no school on Monday for Indigenous Peoples Day. Please see a few additional dates below.
Warm regards,
Toni Jolley
