Dear Bates Families,
Thank you to all who were able to join us for today’s Halloween parade! It was wonderful to see so many of our students and families enjoying the festivities together.
Upcoming Emergency Drill
As we look ahead to next week, we want to share about a routine safety drill. All Bates students will take part in an emergency drill on Wednesday, November 4. During this practice, students will learn how to exit the building quickly and safely. Our School Resource Officer Kathy Poirier will be on hand to guide and support our students throughout the drill.
Early Dismissal on Thursday, November 5
Please note that Thursday, November 5, is an early dismissal day to accommodate parent-teacher conferences. Students will be dismissed at 12:00 pm. Thank you in advance for partnering with us in these important conversations about your child’s progress.
Bates School Council
The Bates School Council is composed of four parents, three teachers, and the principal and meets approximately six times a year. Our goals include identifying the educational needs of our students, reviewing the annual school budget, and providing input on the school improvement plan. Additionally, the Council offers a collaborative space for parents, staff, and community members to discuss district initiatives, home-school partnerships, student safety, and school climate.
Our parent representatives for this school year are: Lily Cua, Catriona Jenkins, Cara Majeski and Carrie Williams. If you would like to learn more about the School Council or topics under discussion, please feel free to reach out to any of our members or to me directly.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
Warmly,
Toni Jolley
