Dear Bates Families,
I hope that you have found time to rest and recharge this summer. Personally, I’ve found that as my children get older, our family time in the summer is more precious than ever. This summer we’ve enjoyed camping, a beach vacation and lots of down time together. I’ve also appreciated time this summer to take a professional course, attend our annual administrative retreat and work with my colleagues to plan for the upcoming year. I am very excited to welcome all of our students back to school!
The first day of school is Wednesday, August 31. Below is some information that may be helpful as you prepare for the start of school.
PowerSchool Parent Portal & Teacher Assignments
The Portal will open to all families today, Wednesday, August 17, at noon. Your child’s teacher assignment for the upcoming school year will be available after you complete the important parent portal forms for each student in your family. If you need help accessing the portal, please email portal@wellesleyps.org. The portal will remain open until September 6. In addition, please look for a welcome email from your child’s classroom teacher on August 24.

Tuesday, August 30 School Visit
We hope to ease the transition back to school by inviting new and returning students and families to visit school on Tuesday, August 30. The schedule includes:
1:45 – 2:15 pm New Family Meet & Greet & tour of the building, library courtyard
2:15 – 3:00 pm Classroom visits
Back to School Night
Please save the date for the Bates Back to School Night on Wednesday, September 14 at 6:30 p.m. More details will follow.
