Dear Hunnewell,
What a beautiful day for our Fifth Grade “Moving-On” Ceremony! Our fifth graders kicked off the ceremony in song under the direction of Katie Dexter with solos from Ella Gander, Jack House, Fi Licata, and Kaitlin Kiernan. We thank the fifth graders and their families for our beautiful ribbon cutting ceremony banner inspired by the art work of fifth grader Aly Braz. It will be hung in the gym next to the one from the class of 2023. We also thank you for our beautiful new Hunnewell CARES flag. It will be flown with pride for many years to come!
I also want to thank our many variety show performers including, Francesco Tron, Emma Andler, Mara Bryan, Drew Bechtel, Myles Boehm, Eloise Richardson, Ana Hassanein, Ella Gander, Kaitlin Kiernan, Georgie Spencer, and Maya Lungeneau. Well done!! Thank you also to our many announcers and the backstage crew organized by our music teacher, Katie Dexter. What a wonderful show!
We finished the day with a staff v fifth grade kickball game! Both sides played great and the staff was able to eke out a narrow victory! Thank you to the Mike and Carolyn White for facilitating this wonderful event. The hill made for a perfect viewing spot. This might have to become a new Hunnewell tradition! It was fun to make the walk as a school community, as we finish this year together in the new school. Thank you also to Mr. Ligon for his entertaining announcements during the game.
It’s hard to believe, but we only have three days left to go! Next up our First Grade “Community Helpers” play on Wednesday afternoon!
