What an amazing start to this fantastic school year! We could not have gotten to the first day without our Fiske-tastic staff that worked tirelessly to get the building ready for our first day. A special thank you goes out to our custodial staff, Mr. McHale, Mr. Burke and Mr. Seaver, who moved countless items, found lost materials and cleaned the building from top to bottom. A heartfelt thank you to the entire custodial staff!
Students and staff started the first day with the traditional raising of the flag. The fourth and fifth grade led us in America the Beautiful. To celebrate the beautiful Fiske renovation Rosemary Kelley did the honors of cutting the red ribbon in our ribbon cutting ceremony.
fter the flag raising, the entire school collected in the gym to view two movie clips. The first movie showed staff preparing for the first day of school. The second movie was the amazing opening day performance at the WHS directed by our band director, Julie Verret, and performed by the Fiske Band. Both of these movies are shared on our web page.
We are all looking forward to a restful long weekend and a wonderful week 2. Please find below some helpful reminders and dates for the upcoming weeks.
Car Line
Arrival and dismissal can be very busy. On Tuesday we will be sending home the ABC’s of the Fiske Car Line. Please read these and place the card on the dashboard of your car with your child’s last name clearly written. Please remember, if you are at the front of the pick-up line, pull all the way to the end of the circle. Continue to pull up as far as you can during the pick-up process. Please DO NOT pull around a car in the car line or back-up. We are trying to keep our students safe getting into their cars. Thank you for following these safety rules.
Dogs
Although I love dogs, many of our students have pet allergies. For the safety of all students, please do not bring you dogs to arrival or dismissal.
