Dear Fiske Kindergarten Families,
Welcome Kindergarten class of 2023-2024. The Fiske staff and I are very excited to welcome your children to school. Seeing our new Kindergarten students arrive on the first day of school is one of the highlights of the year.
The Kindergarten teachers, Ms. Jennifer Brophy, Ms. Rebecca McLeod and Mrs. Christine Mark, are eager to greet our newest members of the Fiske community at the Kindergarten Lemonade Party on Tuesday, August 29th, 12:30–1:15 p.m. If it is sunny we will meet on the primary playground, or if it is rainy we will meet in the gym. This is a time for your child to meet their teacher and classmates and visit their classroom.
Just a quick reminder, August 30-September 8 Kindergarten students’ day ends at 12:00 p.m. For a fee, the WCCC will provide child care from 12:00-3:00 pm on August 31, September 1, 5, 7 and 8. Please visit their website at WCCC for more information.
During the first two weeks of school your child will be scheduled to come to school during the afternoon for their Kindergarten assessment. This time will be used for the teacher to get to know your child and begin an informal assessment in order to plan appropriately for instruction during the year. Your child’s teacher will send an online signup form to schedule your child’s afternoon visit. Please bring your child to the Fiske School at the scheduled time.
The beginning of school is a very exciting time for all; please take a moment to fill out your child’s dismissal plan for the first two weeks of school and for all dates after September 8. These forms can be found on our Fiske website under Back To School Packet. This will provide classroom teachers with the information on how to dismiss your child at the end of the school day.
On Wednesday, August 9, 2023 all parents/guardians will receive a district letter that provides information regarding how to access the Parent Portal. Please contact the Fiske Office if you do not receive this information by August 9.. The Parent Portal will open from August 16-September 6. Once you have completed filling out your child’s emergency information on the portal you will have access to the name of your child’s teacher.
