2.Dear Fiske Families,
We are excited to host Jump Rope for Heart again in Fitness & Health classes this February. We will be participating in many jumping stations, using short ropes, long ropes, aerobic steps, potato sacs and many other fun pieces of equipment. We will be raising money to donate to the American Heart Association as well. This part is completely voluntary. Fundraising forms have been sent home with your children and they will walk you through the fundraising part.
Last year we raised almost $3,000; our best year yet! To make an online donation or to gather more information, please go to heart.org/jump and search for Fiske. Please return all forms by Feb. 26th.
Students are learning how heart disease is still the leading cause of death in America. Thank you for doing your part to save a heart by chosing a health lifestyle. We will be promoting how jumping rope is one of the best forms of exercise to get a healthy heart.
Thank you again for your support of our program. Just a reminder that for safety reasons students must wear sneakers in order to participate. We look forward to jumping in gym! Please contact me with any questions.

3.An Invitation from Health and Fitness
 You are invited! Come and be a part of your child in “action” during Fitness and Health Open House week at Fiske. Parents and family members are encouraged to participate (or watch) in Fitness and Health classes during the week of February 29th to March 4th.   Please find your child’s class and assigned “open house” time. Meet us in the gymnasium and feel free to join us with your yoga mat or share with your child. Participation is greatly encouraged. The students will be participating in a Yoga lesson. This is an exciting experience for you and your child. Looking forward to seeing you soon!

FIELD DAY is in just four months. Please mark your calendars for Friday May 27th and the rain date will be Tuesday June 7th. A signup genius will be created and a link will be sent out for volunteers to sign up to help run a station. Thank you for your help in advance.

4.Just a reminder that children will go out to recess as long as the temperature is 20 degrees Fahrenheit or above. Please make sure that they are dressed warmly enough and that they wear snowpants and boots when there is snow on the field.
5.Safe Arrival Program—We ask that you call the school with all tardy and absent messages,  please do not email these messages. If you know that your child will not be in school, or will be late on any specific day, please call the school office during school hours at 781.446.6265. If your call is made outside of school hours, please call the absence/tardy line 781.781.446.6219. If your child will be tardy please include in your message if your child will be bringing lunch or needs to order a school lunch. Lunch requests are needed prior to 9 a.m.
6.ELA MCAS testing period is scheduled for March 28-April 8, 2016.
7.Math MCAS testing period is scheduled for May 9-20, 2016.
8.Register Online for Instrumental & Vocal Extension Program Spring Session. Deadline to register is February 8th. The second semester fees are as follows:

• Private Lessons (15 weeks)—30 min.—$437.50
• Private Lessons (15 weeks)—45 min.—643.75
• Private Lessons (15 weeks)—60 min.—$850.00
