Learning • Caring • Innovating

Fiske Families,The Fiske Falcons flew through this week. On Wednesday the fourth grade presented our school with an incredible assembly that focused on the story, Follow the Drinking Gourd. Their presentation made us laugh and cry.  A huge thank you to Ms. Julie Verret for her incredible dedication to the musical growth of our students. Each and every fourth grade student worked diligently to learn and master the songs for the performance; they have made the Fiske Community very proud!
Ms. Verret employs the Growth Mindset methodology when teaching all of our Fiske students.  Her work was recently highlighted on the Mindset Works Blog. Take a look and learn how she infuses Growth Mindset into her work with students.

On Thursday the Fiske After School Enrichment Program started without a hitch. Our students enjoyed both the Lego and Excting Engineering enrichment classes.  We are now in the process of putting together more programming for April. Details will be provided as the scheduled is developed.

Today I had the opportunity to read to KG.  We read the book The Museum by Susan Verde and illustrated by Peter Reynolds.  This is a story about a little girl who visits a museum and her imagination takes flight.  Our KG friends later took some time to let their imaginations fly with crayons, markers, and pastels.  It would not surprise me to see some of our students’ work hanging in a museum some day.  IMG_2526.JPGIMG_2525.JPG
Speaking of Arts…A big thank you to the Creative Arts Committee for providing our first and second graders with the opportunity to visit with a Japanese storyteller.  When dropping in on 2SV, the students were learning about Japanese volcanoes and topography. IMG_2528.JPG
