Dear Fiske Families,
Last night was a big night in the McGregor household. Our oldest daughter graduated from high school. As she walked across the stage I found myself standing and cheering her on in a rather loud manner. Not the usual behavior of a principal but rather the overflowing pride of a parent. Her graduation can’t help but make me reflect on all the love and support that was given to come to this point. As our daughter moves forward in her life she will take the lessons we taught her, and we will take the lessons she taught us. I can’t help but think about our fifth graders and the learning we have all done together. To celebrate their accomplishments the Fifth Grade Concert and ceremony will be held on Monday, June 19th at 9:00 a.m.(change in time). We welcome parents, guardians and family members to come join us for this celebration.
Thank you to all of the Fiske faculty for providing a wonderful PTO Volunteer Breakfast on Wednesday, May 31. It was a lovely event that included many delicious dishes that were enjoyed by all. After the breakfast our Math Coach, Lisa Humphrey and Literacy Coach, Kristin Stoetzel shared ideas around how to best use DreamBox and Raz Kids over the summer.
Please join us on Friday, June 9th at 8:45 for the Band, Orchestra and Grade Three Recorder Concert. Our musicians have been diligently working to learn their music pieces and look forward to sharing their music with family and friends.
On Wednesday, June 14 the Fiske PTO will host the Fiske Family Picnic from 6:00-8:00 p.m. (Rain date June 15) on the back field. There will be entertainment, prizes and popsicles! So bring your blanket, your dinner and your family!

Field Day is scheduled for Tuesday June 6th(Rain date Tuesday, June 13). Session I is from 8:40-10:00 for grades 3, 4, and 5. Session II is from 10:10-11:15 for grades K, 1, and 2. The 5th graders stay out during the 2nd session to be helpers.
Field Day is an event for students to participate in fun and challenging activities with their class. Your child will be outside in the sun for an extended period of time. Please remember to send them with sunscreen on, a hat, sneakers and loose and comfortable clothes and water bottle with their name on it. I have been reminding the children about these tips as well.
