Annie Gayner and Iren Grunfeld(Bates 4th grade teacher) were awarded the 2018 Excellence in Energy and Environmental Education Award for their Morses Pond Erosion Project Based Learning Unit. This week both classes went to the State House to attend the ceremony. Congratulations to Annie and Irene.

FISKE USED BOOK FAIR IS NEXT WEEK!
Students really look forward to purchasing books for their summer reading! We can’t do it without you, so if you’re spring cleaning–please consider setting aside your gently used children’s books to donate to this fun event. We are always amazed by the wonderful quality and huge variety of books that are donated! Any gently used book suitable for preschool through middle school will be gladly accepted (please no baby board books, coloring books, magazines, older teen or adult books). Books will be collected in car line on the mornings of May 21st, 22nd & 23rd, or you may leave books in the bin outside of the gym doors. Class sales are scheduled for Thursday, May 24th & Friday, May 25th. As always, books are sold for only 25 cents on the first day of class sales and 10 cents on the second day!

FISKE FIELD DAY REMINDER
Field Day is Wednesday May 23rd .

Session I – Grades 3-5 from 8:45-10:05

Session II – Grade K-2 from 10:10-11:30

Field Day is an event for students to participate in fun and challenging activities with their class. Your child will be outside in the sun for an extended period of time. Please remember to send them with sunscreen on, a hat, sneakers and loose and comfortable clothes and water bottle with their name on it. I have been reminding the children about these tips as well.
