Fiske Families,
As I look at the dwindling list of important dates, it reminds me the school year is coming to a quick close. On Friday, June 1 at 8:45 a.m. the PTO will be having their final meeting of the year in the library. On Thursday, June 7 the Third Grade Recorder, Orchestra and Band Concert will be at 8:45 a.m. in the gymnasium. On Tuesday, June 19th at 8:45 a.m. the Fiske staff invites all to come and celebrate the Fifth Grade Move Up ceremony in the gymnasium. On Wednesday, June 20th at 9:00 a.m. Mrs. Verret will also be hosting our traditional K-5 Flag Ceremony in the upper parking lot. Finally, students and staff will be clapping our fifth graders out for the last time on Wednesday, June 20th at 12:00 pm. Please join us outside on the sidewalk to clap the fifth graders out.
Thank you to Erin Kenny and her committee for organizing another wonderful used book fair. There was an incredible selection of books for children to choose from. It is safe to say the Fiske students are ready for summer reading.
Thank you to Mrs. Gerst for organizing another amazing field day. The weather was perfect, the games were amazing and the volunteers came out in force. Thank you to the entire 5th grade class for their help transitioning to the K-2 Field Day activities, taking pictures, helping with the younger students and cleaning up. You are a Fisketastic group of children who have risen to the challenge of being school leaders.
As the year ends, we begin to make plans for the fall. This year we are looking for returning Fiske Families to be a resource for our new families. Our goal is to match each new family with a veteran Fiske family to help them with the transition to Fiske. Please consider joining our new Fiske Welcome Wagon. Get ready for the parade on the new date, Sunday, June 3! The children are excited for the parade and the band is ready to go. Grab your Fiskewear and head on over at 12:30 to join your Fiske friends.We just have to hope the weather holds out for the day of fun. For More information check the Monday Memo.
