Fiske Families,
Thank you to Co-Chairs Kara Thornton and Alexa Holian for organizing another wonderful Wild West. Thank you to all the parent, teacher and student volunteers who came out to help with the day. One of the highlights was seeing so many of our past students coming back to attend the event. It was a perfect day for this fun family event and I can not thank the Fiske community enough for coming out and supporting our school.
This week I had the distinct pleasure of traveling to Phoenix, Arizona for the EdLeader21 Conference. The conference consisted of administrators, teachers, educational leaders and students who are currently involved in the work of creating and implementing 21st century programs of study throughout the United States. It was an incredible learning opportunity. I look forward to sharing some insights with the community as we continue our work together this year.
I remember when my daughter was in first grade and she came home one day and said, “Mom, you have to go to the PTO meetings and get involved.” From that day forward I took her advice and got involved. You are invited to attend our first Fiske PTO meeting of the year on Thursday, October 4th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Fiske Library. Come and hear about all the upcoming events and how you can participate in this amazing organization.
Don’t miss our second Walk to School day this Wednesday, October 3rd. What class will have the most participants to win an extra Fitness and Health class and golden sneaker award this month? We shall have to wait and see.
