Blue Fiske Falcon
Fiske Families,
Thank you to the families who contributed to the Wellesley Pantry Food Drive on Wednesday, November 21st. On Tuesday, November 27th I was able to deliver over 20 bags of food items to the Wellesley Food Pantry. They were very grateful for our generous donation.
The Annual Fiske Turkey Stroll was a wonderful community event that highlighted the E (Encourage)in our Fiske Fundamentals. Children ran and walked around the field with great enthusiasm. Students began in three different groups; K-1, 2-3 and 4-5. While one group ran or walked, the other grade levels cheered them on. It was an incredible sight seeing our Fiske Fundamentals in action.
Globe of the World
Where in the World is Mrs. McGregor?
Each week at Fiske we play a game called Where in the World is Mrs. McGregor.
This is a school wide activity that was created to highlight the many cultures Fiske families represent. Monday through Friday during morning announcements Mrs. McGregor gives one clue describing the country she would like to visit. On Monday the country is revealed and new clues are given for the country being highlighted during the upcoming week. A sticker is placed on our world map in the hall to mark the countries that have been highlighted. Fiske Children have a great deal of fun trying to guess where in the world Mrs. McGregor would like to visit.
To continue this activity we need help from families. Please send a note into Mrs. McGregor if your family is interested in having a country highlighted. We are anticipating many families will want to take part in this fun activity. Each week a country will be selected and families will be contacted to develop the clues. Children will be asked to work with their parents/guardians to develop 1-5 clues about the country. These clues will be read during the morning announcements. Thank you for your participation and happy travels!

Arrival and Dismissal Safety
Safety during arrival and dismissal is a top priority for all. The staff at Fiske works diligently to create the safest possible dismissal procedure for students who travel by foot or car. It has been noticed that at times Madison Street and Hastings Street can be congested during dismissal because of numerous cars parked on the side of the roads. This causes the school busses to have difficulty getting through to Fiske. To be safe, parents and caretakers are encouraged to use the car line during arrival and dismissal. The line runs smoothly and is finished within 10 minutes. If needed, parents/guardians and caretakers can park in the lower parking lot and walk up to the flagpole to pick up their child. Thank you for your cooperation.
