Blue Fiske Falcon
Dear Families,
Families and friends are invited to join us for the fourth grade presentation of Harriet Tubman’s life on Wednesday, February 6th at 8:45 a.m. We are delighted to have Hunnewell Librarian, Roxanne Scott, as the narrator of the program. For several months grade four students have been preparing songs, solos and instrumental parts for out enjoyment. We hope you can join us to hear these extraordinary students.
On Friday, February 1st your child/children will be bringing home their first progress report of the school year. This progress report is a glimpse into the daily life of your child/children. Growth Mindset is at the core of our work at Fiske. Children are encouraged to embrace mistakes and grow from them. Please take the opportunity to review the progress report with your child/children and reflect on their growth this year. Here are some questions our School Psychologist, Sharon Grossman, suggests to use when reflecting on the progress reports with your child/children.
-
“What goals did you set for yourself for the first part of the year in ____ (e.g. math, reading, music)?”
-
“What strategies have you used to work on that goal?” “What’s working?” “How can we and your teachers help you move forward your goal(s)?”
-
“How does it feel when you get closer to your goal?”
-
“What goals do you want to set for the next month or so now that we know how you have been learning?”
Please return the Parent/Guardian comment sheet in the manila envelope. We will reuse these envelopes for the June progress report. Thank you
Dismissal Reminder
Please remember to use the Fiske Change of Dismissal Forms in the event that your child has a change in their dismissal procedure. These forms are used to keep the school informed of where the child is going at the end of the day. Email Sue Drayton if you need a new pad of these forms(draytons@wellesleyps.org). Please call the Fiske office by 2:00 p.m. if there is an unexpected change of dismissal for your child. This provides time for the office to inform your child of the change.
THE SCIENCE FAIR IS COMING!
Calling all scientists! The fourth annual Fiske Science Fair will be held on Sunday, Feb 10th from 2:30-4:00 pm in the Fiske gym.
