Fiske Falcon
Fiske Families,
What a wonderful week at Fiske. The weather was cooperating and the children were smiling. It is hard to believe a week ago we had snow on the ground. Thank you to the PTO for hosting a very informative meeting on Thursday night. Please visit the PTO Website to find how you can be part of this wonderful organization.
There is NO school on Wednesday, November 11th in honor of Veteran’s Day. Enjoy the day.
Mrs. McGregor will be hosting the first Coffee with the Principal Zoom meeting on Friday, November 13th at 8:45 a.m. Coffee with the principal is a time to meet other parents, and chat with the principal. Questions and ideas are always welcome. The Zoom meeting link will be sent on Friday morning.
Each week our teachers work tirelessly to implement our COVID protocols to keep students safe and healthy. These include six feet distancing, washing hands multiple times a day and mask wearing. Our custodians are wiping down high touch areas throughout the day and cleaning each classroom area each evening. Please make sure that your child/children have masks that fit snugly over their nose and mouth. Remember to follow the COVID guidelines outside of school. If we all continue to work together then we can continue to be together.
Thank you to all the parents, guardians and caretakers who are working to assure that children are completing all SeeSaw and Google Classroom assignments posted by classroom teachers, specialists, Science Department, and FLES. It is very important that these lessons are completed so children are prepared for their in-person lessons. Please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher if they are struggling to complete the assignments.
Specialists(Art, Music, Library and Fitness and Health) Asynchronous Lessons
As in past years, children are receiving art, fitness & health, library, and music every week. Over the course of 10 days children will experience one in-person lesson and one asynchronous lesson in each special. The asynchronous specialists lessons are either previews of what will be taught in the next live class, or extensions of what they experienced in the previous class. These lessons are essential for the curriculum to continue to move forward. When your child is on a remote day, their classroom teacher will assign them their specialist asynchronous lesson at a specific time during the week. Please remind your child that these lessons are required, not optional. If your child has questions about any lesson, they can email or send the specialist a message through google classroom or SeeSaw.
Picture of Winnie the dog
Winnie is coming, Winnie is coming!!!
Look who is coming to visit Fiske during lunch on Thursday, November 12th, Winnie the comfort dog! Winnie is an official member of the Wellesley Police Department and will be stopping by Fiske at times throughout the year. Winnie is a trained comfort dog and we are exctied to meet her. We are aware that some children will not want to get near Winnie for a variety of reasons that include allergies or discomfort around dogs. Please notify your child’s classroom teacher if you do not want your child to be near the dog for any reason. Thank you
