What a wonderful winter concert we had on Wednesday. Thank you to Mrs. Verret for organizing such an amazing event and for our 5th grade chorus for bringing joy to all. A special shout out to Mrs. Cosgrove for her work with the 5th grade students to make the snowflakes that were in the trees.

Concert Reminders!
On Wednesday, December 22nd at 9:00 a.m. (Rain Date Thursday, December 23rd at 9:00 a.m) the Fifth Grade Chorus will be strolling around the outside of the school building to share some winter songs with the classrooms. Parents are welcome to join our strollers and sing along.
Fiske Safety
Every year it is important to provide our community with a review of the safety measures we take every day at Fiske. The safety of your children is our top priority. The Fiske School building has an extensive security system that begins with our security doors. All visitors are required to ring the bell and state the reason they are entering the building. In addition to the security doors, the entire school has classroom doors with locks, motion detector lighting, parking lot lighting, surveillance cameras and an intercom system that can be heard both inside and outside. For further communication, each grade level has a walkie talkie that is with a teacher when taking students outside. These devices can be used to call the Wellesley Police Department if needed.
Each year the Fiske staff participate in an A.L.I.C.E. (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) training that includes an active shooter simulation facilitated by the Wellesley Police Department (WPD). Throughout the school year, students participate in practice emergency evacuation drills, fire drills and bus evacuation drills in coordination with the Wellesley Police and Fire Department. These protocols are practiced so our students and staff are prepared in the event of an emergency at school.
