Fiske Families,
There will be no school on Monday, June 20th in observance of Juneteenth. This special day celebrates June 19, 1865, the date when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to free the remaining enslaved people in the United States. For more information about this holiday, please read this information from the The National Museum of African American History & Culture. Take time this weekend to discuss with your child/children the significance of this holiday.
The end of the year is always bittersweet, with saying good-bye to friends and staff members to anticipating our summer adventures. This morning, as a school, we celebrated our Fifth Grade students moving on to the Middle School. On Tuesday parents are welcome to join us as we celebrate the end of the year by lowering our flag at 9:00 a.m. (after PAWS arrival). We will also be saying good-bye to our amazing Nurse, Betsy Hindmarsh, and School Psychologist, Sharon Grossman. At the end of the day we will be having our traditional 5th grade clap out at 12:00 p. m. It is a time of endings and beginnings for all of us. Enjoy the summer and thank you all for being incredible supporters of our amazing Fiske School. A special thank you to out PTO Board;

Tuesday is dress like you are off for summer vacation! While summer is a time for relaxing and enjoying the warm weather, I strongly encourage all Fiske Falcons to remember to read each day and practice their math skills. Both the Literacy and Math Department have wonderful resources for your children to access this summer.
