Dear Fiske Families,

Thank you  to Laura Smith and Teresa Peters for coordinating an amazing teacher appreciation lunch on Wednesday.  We can not thank  families enough for providing sandwiches, soups, breads, salads, drinks  and desserts for this lovely lunch.  Your generosity is truly appreciated.

We are looking forward to our Halloween Parade  on Tuesday, October 31st at 8:45 a.m.  Children will exit the building through the front door, walk through the primary playground and around the back field.  The route will be marked for easy viewing.   The field will be  wet so it is  suggested that children bring boots or an additional  pair of shoes to use for the parade.  Children should come to school in their costumes and then change into their school clothes after the parade.

If your child/children is/are participating in the parade, costumes should reflect our Fiske Fundamentals; Fair, Inclusive, Safe, Kind and Encouraging. Children should not wear costumes that promote stereotypes or bias towards any groups of people.  Costumes should not include;

  •  Masks

  • wigs

  • face paint

  • props

Please inform your child’s classroom teacher if your child prefers to not walk in the parade.  A fall activity will take place in the library for students who are not participating in the parade.

Walk to School Day

Our Third walk or roll  to school day is Wednesday, November  1.  Students who ride a bus will also be able to join in the fun.  Bus students will be encouraged to walk two times around the marked area on the back field. The field is wet so it is  suggested that children bring boots or a second pair of shoes if they will be walking the field route.    Last month we had 188 participants, let’s see if we can get even more this month.
