Fiske Families,
Happy Hanukkah to all our families who are celebrating. We wish you a joyous holiday that is filled with happiness.
This Wednesday our school gathered for a Student Council led assembly. The assembly focused on the power and ripple effect of the words we use when we are speaking to one another.. The assembly started with the book A Wrinkled Heart by Tracey Hoexter. This book focuses on how unkind words can “wrinkle a person’s heart” and while we can apologize for saying unkind words, some small wrinkles remain. The Student Council then presented a skit that showed the ripple effect of unkind and kind words. Students went back to their classrooms and further discussed the content of the assembly. The Student council did an excellent job and we all learned from their example. Please take some time this weekend to ask your children about the assembly and what they learned.
Picture Retake Day
Tuesday, December 12th is picture retake day. If your child did not attend Fiske on our first picture day they may get their picture taken. For retakes, please send in your child’s original photo packet on December 12th. Please see the attached form for more information on picture retake day.
Winter Concert
Come and join us for our Orchestra, Band and Fifth Grade Chorus Winter Concert on Wednesday, December 13th at 8:45 a.m. The students in these three groups have been working diligently to present a lovely performance. We look forward to sharing their music with our Fiske Community.
