Dear Fiske Families,

Fiske Falcons were smiling for picture day this week.  Do not worry if your child was not here because make up day is on December 13, 2024.

Halloween Parade

We are looking forward to our Halloween Parade  on Thursday, October 31st at 8:45 a.m.  Children will exit the building through the front door, walk through the primary playground and around the back field.  The route will be marked for easy viewing.   The field will be  wet so it is  suggested that children bring boots or an additional  pair of shoes to use for the parade.  Children should come to school in their costumes and then change into their school clothes after the parade.

If your child/children is/are participating in the parade, costumes should reflect our Fiske Fundamentals; Fair, Inclusive, Safe, Kind and Encouraging. Children should not wear costumes that promote stereotypes or bias towards any groups of people.  Costumes should not include;

  •  Masks

  • wigs

  • face paint

  • props

Please inform your child’s classroom teacher if your child prefers to not walk in the parade.  A fall activity will take place in the library for students who are not participating in the parade.

Fiske has filled two bins for the Cradles to Crayons annual collection. Let’s see if we can fill more before the last day on October 31.

Cradles to Crayons’ focus is to provide children living in homeless, or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive at home, school, and play. Research shows that 1 and 3 children will experience clothing insecurity in their lifetime. Fiske will be participating in a clothing drive during the weeks of October 6 – 31. Cradles to Crayons is looking for gently used New or Gently Used:

  • Clothes

  • Shoes

  • Winter Coats/Winter Gear

If you have these items, please bring them to the clearly marked bin placed outside the front door.  Donations go to families throughout Massachusetts so please consider donating.

In addition, on Saturday, November 2nd , Cradles to Crayons will hold a sorting event at Babson College in the BRAC Gymnasium (9:30am-11:30am). This event  is open to the entire Wellesley community.  Volunteers will sort  the clothing collected!
