Around the World with Fiske

Calling all Fiske Families! Join us on Thursday, November 21, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. for a night of food, festivities, and books from across the globe. Families will travel the halls of Fiske to experience the diverse cultures in our community. Children will receive passports to collect stamps as they visit various countries. It promises to be a Fisketastic event!

Evening Schedule:

  • 6:00-6:40 p.m. – Dinner featuring dishes from around the world

  • 6:40-7:10 p.m. – Activities showcasing crafts, dances, and traditions from various cultures

  • 7:15-7:30 p.m. – Story time with readers sharing books in different languages

You do not need to bring dinner, activities, or books to participate. We are excited to see as many students and families as possible!

November 26, 2024  – School Committee Conversation

Fiske parents and caregivers are invited to meet with one or two members of the School Committee on Tuesday, November 26 from 7-8 p.m. on Zoom. This will be an informal discussion regarding current Committee activities as well as an opportunity for Q&A. I will also be in attendance, as will the Superintendent.

The School Committee has five elected members who serve 3-year terms. In addition to supporting the core values, vision and mission of the Wellesley Public Schools, the Committee’s responsibilities are to develop and manage school policies; support the allocation of resources by overseeing budget & facilities; hire and review the superintendent of schools; and advocate for the school district.

Zoom link for the meeting is here.
