Fiske Families,

What an incredible week it has been! From the National Blue Ribbon celebration to Around the World with Fiske, our community came together in remarkable ways. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for these special events!

A special shoutout to Erin Bryan and Mitali Bixby for their assistance in planning the National Blue Ribbon celebration. The balloons and blue carpet were fantastic touches, and the students absolutely loved them! It was a wonderful way to honor the dedication of our teachers, staff, students, and families who make Fiske so extraordinary.

This morning I reflected on how fortunate we are to be part of such an incredible community. Last night’s Around the World with Fiske was truly inspiring! It was amazing to see so many families come together to learn about one another’s cultures and traditions.

Thank you to Jill Hegstad and the PTO volunteers for ensuring the gym looked stunning and for coordinating everything needed for the evening’s delicious dishes. A big thank you to the families and teachers who brought food, hosted crafts, and read stories. It was a beautiful night of connection and celebration, and I remain in awe of our Fisketastic community.

Looking Ahead

School Committee Conversation

Date: Tuesday, November 26, 2024
Time: 7:00–8:00 p.m.
Location:  Join Zoom Meeting

https://wellesleyps.zoom.us/j/82428056818?pwd=OkmrtUCCn3gG5O5mBAdVyebCFaBsqG.1

Fiske parents and caregivers are invited to meet with one or two members of the School Committee for an informal discussion. This is a great opportunity to learn about current Committee activities and ask questions. I’ll also be attending, along with the Superintendent.

The School Committee consists of five elected members who serve three-year terms. They play a vital role in supporting the core values, vision, and mission of the Wellesley Public Schools. Their responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing school policies

  • Overseeing budgets and facilities

  • Hiring and reviewing the Superintendent of Schools

  • Advocating for the school district

We hope you can join us for this informative session.
