Fiske Families,
It was a lovely day for our first Walk to School Day. Approximately 140 students walked to school today. Our next Walk to School Day will be on Friday, November 4th; let’s see if we can get even more children to participate in this fun event.
Families, please remember that we have both Monday, October 10th(Columbus Day) and Wednesday, October 12th(Yom Kippur) off this coming week.
Halloween Parade
Parents, guardians and friends, please join us for our annual Halloween Parade on Monday, October 31st at 9:00 a.m. We will be hosting the parade on our new route around the Fiske playground fields. Fiske’s Student Council members will be leading the parade. Students may wear a costume and walk with their class in a large circular path around the fields. We will have a special section of the field setup for parents, guardians and friends to be able to see all the children.
Please be aware that students are not allowed to wear masks, make-up or bring props for their costumes. Students can wear their costumes to school, but must change after the parade.
Please inform your child’s classroom teacher if your child will not be participating in the parade. Ms. Verret will be hosting students in the library and making a fun Fall craft.
A Message About Box Tops
Dear Fiske Families,
Did you know Fiske participates in the Box Tops for Education Program? Clipping Box Tops is an easy and fun way to help our school earn cash! Every Box Top you send in is worth 10 cents for Fiske–it may seem like a small amount, but it really adds up quickly! Box Tops can be found on hundreds of products including Kleenex, Ziploc, General Mills cereals, Lysol, Annie’s, Green Giant, Hefty, Yoplait, Land O’Lakes, Mott’s, Old El Paso and more! For a complete list of participating products, please visit http://www.boxtops4education.com/earn/participating-products.
Please look for the collection sheet that went home via backpack this week. Box Tops can be glued or taped on the sheet (please, no staples) OR you can simply send in your Box Tops in a plastic baggie or envelope. The Box Tops do NOT have to be precisely trimmed–just make sure the expiration date and product code is not cut off. You may also find Bonus Box Tops certificates on many products–so don’t forget to send in those as well! However, please do not send in expired Box Tops as we will not receive credit for them.
Many thanks to all who have sent in Box Tops since school started–we have already collected over 500 of them this month! This year our goal is to earn $1,000 for Fiske. I know we can reach and maybe even surpass this goal by working together. Every Box Top counts!
Thanks again!
