“Honor the leap as well as the landing.”

Fiske Families,
This week our fourth and fifth grade students took the ELA MCAS. During the assessments I had the opportunity to observe in each classroom and saw students putting forth their best effort. Next week the third graders will take the ELA MCAS and then we look forward to the math and science(5th grade)MCAS in May.
Reminder, Tuesday, April 5th is an early release day for parent/teacher conferences. Please pick your child up at 12:00. Thank you

What is all that tape on the walls of Fiske???
Mr. Haberstroh has once again come up with a very creative art display in the Fiske halls. In teams of 3-5, the Fifth Grade students started to create temporary Masking Tape Murals. There are three ideas driving the project. First, getting art out of the Art classroom and into the “public”. Second, working collaboratively in creative teams to struggle and succeed in making art together. Third, being exposed and enjoying the temporal nature of art installations. The Fifth graders chose their own teams and their own imagery under Mr. Haberstroh’s guidance. It is an amazing display of art and teamwork. Thank you Mr. Haberstroh!
Student Council’s Spring Cleanup at Fiske!
On Thursday, the Student Council embarked upon the beautification of the front of Fiske. The first step in the process was to rake up all the dead leaves and debris. Once winter has finally decided to leave us, they will start step two by planting annuals in the front of the school. We can’t wait for spring to arrive and STAY!
