Dear Hunnewell,

Tonight was a big night for Hunnewell!

Please join me in congratulating Heather Haskell, who received her chair for 25 (almost 26) years of service to the students, families, and staff of the Hunnewell Community. Her colleague, Marcia Sullivan, spoke about Heather’s continuous commitment to high standards for her students, as well as her commitment to plan for the individual needs of each student. Heather Haskell is one of the finest educators with whom I have had the pleasure of working, and it was an honor to see her recognized for her commitment to student learning and achievement. Congratulations Heather!

We also welcomed the Hunnewell parents of the Wellesley High School Class of 2037 tonight! Thank you to Donna McFarlane and Carolyn Livingstone for opening their classrooms and providing an overview of kindergarten, and thank you to Louisa Canham and Theresa Ford for volunteering to be our K coordinators and providing that extra warm welcome from the PTO! Finally, I thank Jeff Dees, the newly appointed Hunnewell principal for attending tonight’s parent orientation to meet and welcome our new families.

We have a busy week ahead:
