Previously: Co-President of WMS PTO, Wellesley Education Foundation and Wellesley Scholarship Foundation; former Chair of Teachers21; former Treasurer and founding member of Wellesley Youth Basketball Association.  Worked for over 20 years in technology – includes being a founding member of Cambridge Technology Partners. Initially appointed to an open School Committee seat in June 2024, and elected to the position in March 2025, Sharon brings with her professional expertise in leadership consulting with an MBA in Organizational Effectiveness from Vanderbilt University and a BA in Psychology from Pennsylvania State University. Her career focused on leadership development in corporate and consulting environments. Sharon is serving on the board of the National Charity League Wellesley Chapter and was a former board member of the Wellesley Education Foundation. Previously, Sharon volunteered in the WMS and Schofield Elementary School PTOs and served as a Girl Scouts Troop Co-Leader, demonstrating her dedication to fostering enriching experiences for children. Christina I. Horner, M.Ed.
A Boston native and Weston METCO student, Christina graduated Boston College with a major in business administration with a concentration in marketing. She holds a master’s degree in education from Lesley University. Christina taught in Weston, and served as the director of the Lincoln-METCO program for almost a decade. She has served as co-president of World of Wellesley, where she focused on family and community anti-bias awareness and education. She was also a troop leader for Girl Scouts,  and a volunteer tutor for the Wellesley Public Library ESOL program.  Her twins graduated from Wellesley High School. Dr. Joanne DaSilva Moreira
Dr. Joanne DaSilva Moreira is honored to serve as one of the METCO Representatives to the Wellesley Public Schools School Committee. Her daughter, Annaya, is a Wellesley High School student who has attended WPS since first grade at Schofield School. During Annaya’s time there, Joanne volunteered at the consignment shop and helped organize and facilitate two consecutive Math Games Nights. Joanne has also represented the “METCO Marvels” every year at the Wellesley Education Foundation Spelling Bee since Annaya started and has served as Co-Vice President of the Wellesley Middle School PTO. Joanne is a first-generation American whose parents immigrated from Fogo, Cabo Verde in the 1970’s and she exudes a great deal of pride in her Cabo Verdean culture and values. Joanne has always considered herself a life-long learner whose favorite teachers have been that of her very own students. Joanne has a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy and is currently an Instructional Coach for the Boston Public Schools.

Wellesley School Committee (elected March 2025). Illana Nissenbaum has lived in Wellesley since 2006 and is the parent of three children in Wellesley Public Schools. A former elementary school teacher with over a decade of experience, she holds a B.A. in Sociology and Education from Clark University and is working on her M.A. in Educational Leadership at Simmons University. Illana is a former co-president of the Wellesley Education Foundation, a current Town Meeting Member for Precinct D, and teaches Hebrew school at Temple Beth Elohim.
