Dear Parents, This week brings a lot of excitement as our students prepare to run the Bates Mini-Marathon on Friday!  Thank you to all who have volunteered to help make this day a success.  If you are not able to volunteer, please consider cheering from the sidelines if possible.  If you are coming to the Mini-Marathon, please be aware that the parking lot will be closed between 9:15 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.  We recommend parking on one side of Elmwood Road during this time.   Please find attached to this email a form for you to provide feedback to your child’s teacher about the class placement process for next year.  The form is called “Your child as a learner” and it will allow you to share your goals for your child for next year as well as insight you may have on how your child learns best.  Submitting this form is optional.  If you would like to provide this feedback, please complete the form and email it to your child’s teacher by Monday, April 27.  We will use your feedback in our effort to create classrooms in which all children will thrive both socially and academically, however, please remember that we cannot consider requests for particular teachers.  As we prepare for the end of this school year and the beginning of next year, the faculty and I are having discussions on a number of important topics including math instruction, school climate, homework and home-school communication.  I invite you to share your thoughts on these topics and others by joining me for coffee on Friday, May 15 at 9:00 a.m. in the cafeteria.  If you are not available meet at that time, please let me know if you would instead be able to meet on May 14 at 6:00 p.m.  In addition, please feel free to contact me individually if you are unable to attend either time.  I welcome your feedback on these topics or any other topics at any time.  I would like to remind you of several school events on the calendar in May.

  • The Science Fair is Wednesday, May 6 at 6 p.m.  Participation in the Science Fair is optional, but all students and families are invited to attend.
