School News
1.Halloween Candy Collection Dates: Nov.2-6, 2015
Fiske will be collecting any extra Halloween Candy you would like to get out of your house. The candy is donated to a local dentist who kindly ships it to our troops overseas. The collection box will be kept in the main office.2.REMINDER to all Parents/Guardians—Noon Dismissal—Tuesday, November 3rd
All Fiske students will be dismissed at noon on Tuesday, November 3rd so that Parent/Teacher conferences can be scheduled for those afternoon hours. No lunch will be served. We have sent home a dismissal form specifically for that day. We hope this has given you plenty of time to plan for this date.
3.Fiske Family Game Night—Friday November 13th—6–8 p.m. at Fiske
Bring the whole family and come enjoy an evening of engaging math, logic and out-of-the-box thinking games. Challenge your son or daughter to a game of Connect 4 or Chess; see who can be Farkled; test your fraction skills with fraction bingo; Knoodle your way up to the highest level; or gobble your opponent in Gobblet Gobblers (think tic tac toe with a twist). There will be games for all ages, all with a math, logic or challenge theme. A simple dinner will be served.
Cost: $5/person to cover dinner and facility clean-up expenses
Volunteer: We are seeking a few volunteers to help with set up and clean up, as well as create direction cards for the games. If you are interested and willing, please note this on the sign-up/RSVP (sign-up genius).
Game suggestions: We would love additional ideas for fun math and logic games. Please pass along any idea with the name of the game and the age level for which they are appropriate to Hillary (hillary@alum.mit.edu). If you have a game that you would be willing to share for the evening, please let us know (also on the sign-up genius link below).
We look forward to a fun evening. If you can join us, please RSVP at the below link:
