Dear Fiske Families,
Today our Fiske community was able to the amazing Music Around the World program presented by music teachers Julie Verret, Alison Iannuzzi and all of the Fiske children. Over the past several months the children have worked to learn both the dances and songs. This was a truly fabulous celebration of cultures and community.
Thank you to Ceida Chan and Manisha Varma for providing our staff with a lovely coffee break. Cookies, coffee and tea were provided and greatly appreciated by all of our staff.
School Safety
School safety is a conversation that is ongoing both at Fiske and district wide. On Wednesday, May 3, myself and Head Custodian Steve McHale participated in an afternoon of district sponsored school safety drills. In collaboration with the Wellesley Police Department we practiced and standardized our safety protocols and procedures across the ten school settings. This work reflects the ongoing commitment Wellesley Public School maintains to ensure the safety of all students and staff.

The Fiske children are saving the planet one lunch at a time. Previously, three lunch periods created 6 bags of trash, now we are down to 1.5 bags of trash a day! The parent support is amazing so we are extending this volunteering opportunity for two more weeks. We are asking for one parent volunteer per lunch session. “PIZZA PLAYDATE IN THE PLAYGROUND” for Fiske and Schofield families!!

Fiske Cares and Schofield Cares are jointly hosting a Pizza Playdate at the Barton Community Playground for families within our school communities. Fiske Field Day Reminder
Field Day is Friday May 26th. The rain date is Tuesday June 6th .
Session I – 8:40-10:00 for grades 3, 4, and 5.
Session II – 10:10- 11:15 for grades K, 1, and 2. Fifth graders stay out during the 2nd session to be station helpers.

Field Day is an event for students to participate in fun and challenging activities with their class. Your child will be outside in the sun for an extended period of time. Please remember to send them with sunscreen on, a hat, sneakers and loose and comfortable clothes and water bottle with their name on it. I have been reminding the children about these tips as well.
Thanks for all your help and support. This Field Day is sure to be a success!!!!
The Gr. 5 vs Staff kickball game will be held on the Fiske baseball diamond at 1:30 p.m. on Monday June 19th. The entire school will be able to watch this fun and exciting game. Please send your child to school with sunscreen on and a hat as they will be sitting outside for an extended period of time. The 5th graders will wear their class t-shirts for this fun event.
