Dear Fiske Families,

Yesterday morning the Fiske Fourth Grade classes had the opportunity to listen to a panel of veterans whose service spanned from WWII to current day. The fourth graders sang songs and recited poems to show their gratitude for the service of these visiting veterans. The veterans shared their experiences and answered questions from the audience.  It was an incredible morning for all.  Thank you to our panel of veterans for coming to speak with the fourth grade students. Thank you to Karen Hanlon, Anne Gayner and Alison Giorlando for coordinating this wonderful program.

Fiske Collections

Our Fiske Fundamentals are Fair, Inclusive, Safe, Kind and Encouraging.  The kindness was truly flowing this week.  Thank you to all those who donated to Cradles to Crayons, Wellesley Dental Candy drive and UNICEF.  We collected over 50 bags of items for Cradles to Crayons, four large containers of candy for the Wellesley Dental Candy Drive and 36 UNICEF boxes(last day for UNICEF is 11/17).

The Student Council will be collecting coins to raise funds for American Humane Society and All Hands Volunteers for disaster relief.  This collection will start at our Fiske Second Annual Turkey Stroll on Wednesday, November 15th at 9:00 a.m. and continue until Wednesday, November 22.   Students will be running or walking around the back field several times to raise money for these disaster relief organizations. Students are being encouraged to collect loose change, or do chores for change to donate to our coin collection.  Students can drop their donations in containers in their classrooms. Student Council members will be visiting classrooms on Monday and Tuesday to share information with their peers about the coin collection.

Have a wonderful Veteran’s Day weekend!
