Fiske Families,

Welcome back!  It was such a pleasure seeing our families on opening day.  The building is buzzing with children’s excitement about seeing their teachers and friends. I had the opportunity to visit classrooms, recesses and lunches throughout the week and heard about the children’s summer highlights. We are hoping that each family would be willing to send in a family picture taken this summer. These pictures will be placed on our Fiske Community board in the front hall.  These pictures can be handed to classroom teachers. Thank you

Each week I will be sending home the Fiske Friday News via email.  This email is intended to keep our Fiske families informed of Fiske events.  At the end of each email there is a list of important dates, please mark these on your calendars.  Thank you

Crossing Guard

School arrivals and dismissals are off to a safe start.  The carline is running smoothly and children are exiting and entering vehicles with great care.  If you have not done so already, please put your carline name card in the right hand corner of your front windshield. Safety is on the top of our minds during arrival and dismissal procedures, and we thank you  for your attention to the safety of our children during these busy times of the day.

Wednesday afternoon, September 4th, the Fiske school and playground WILL BE CLOSED from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.

On Wednesday afternoon, September 4th, the Fiske school and playground WILL BE CLOSED from 2:00-3:30 p.m. for the Fiske Staff to practice routine safety drills. We will be collaborating with the Wellesley Police Department to practice and standardize our safety protocols and procedures.  All afternoon campus activities have been moved to accommodate this training. We ask that students and families leave the building and playground area during the 2:00-3:30 p.m. training window. The office and staff will not be open for calls during this period.

These safety drills reflect the ongoing commitment Wellesley Public Schools maintain to ensure the safety of all students and staff.  Thank you for your assistance. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience of not being able to use the Fiske playground Wednesday, September 5th from 2:00-3:30 p.m.

We look forward to you joining us for this informative meeting.

We are looking for one new parent representative for the Fiske School Council Site-Based School Councils are mandated by the Education Reform Act of 1993 as part of the Act’s decentralization of decision-making.  The Fiske School Council is composed of equal members of elected teachers and parents working together with the Principal and one community member.  Members serve for two-year terms.
