Fiske Families,
Thank you to all the Fiske teachers for their time and effort in preparing and conducting parent/teacher conferences. It is always such a pleasure to see all the parents/guardians come to school to hear about their child/children’s progress.
Thank you to Teacher Appreciation Lunch Coordinators Chrissy Teschke , Joanna LaPlaca and Shannon Smith, and all the families who provided lunch on Wednesday, November 13th. The sandwiches, salads, and soups were amazing. The desserts were delicious. Your generosity is appreciated by all the Fiske staff.
Thank you to Sharon Grossman presenting an informative session on child anxiety at the PTO meeting last night. Sharon reminded us that the holidays can be an especially stressful time for children as routines change. Sharon suggested one way to help relieve some of the holiday stress is by helping your child/children anticipate changes in schedules.
Please join us on Friday, December 13th at 8:45 a.m. Dr. Mark Klein from HRS will come to speak with parents about managing technology and screen time in the home. This should be an informative evening that helps parents navigate the world of technology in the home.

Turkey Trot
Each year the Fiske Student Council organizes our annual Turkey Trot and Wellesley Food Pantry collection drive. They are at it again. On Wednesday, November 27th Fiske students will be participating in the Fiske Turkey Trot around our playing fields. Trot time will be 8:45 a.m. There will be no rain date.
As a part of our Turkey Trot, we ask families to donate one item to the Wellesley Food Pantry. Your child can bring the item to school on Wednesday, November 27th. The list of most needed items is below. Our hope is that we can help the many families in Wellesley who rely on the food pantry goods.
Laundry Detergent Paper Towels Cans of coffee Mayo and ketchup
Also, the following canned meats: Sardines, Salmon, Chicken, Turkey, Ham
No tuna, please.
From the Nurse:
Occasionally at school, a student needs to change their clothing for a variety of reasons. There is extra clothing kept in the nursing office, donated by parents/guardians, for that reason. The supply is running low. If you have some children’s clothing that you are discarding or are willing to buy underwear or socks, we are looking for the following donations:
1. Gently used elastic waist pants- sizes 4-10, but especially sizes 4-8.
2. Gently used or new socks
3. New Girls underwear
4. New Boys underwear.
Also if anyone has borrowed clothing recently, could you please return the item so it is available when needed.
Thank you
