Fiske Falcon
Fiske Families,
On Monday we will not have school in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s birthday. Throughout the past week teachers have been reading and discussing the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his work for civil rights. Please take the time to talk with your child/children about what they have learned regarding this pioneer of justice.
Please remember that due to the Monday holiday Cohort A students will come for a full day on Wednesday, January 20th.

Thank you!
Thank you to the Christ Family for providing lots of snacks for our staff. It is such a nice way to welcome the week. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
Thank you to Laura Cambell and Teresa Peters for organizing a wonderful assembly for our students. Drumatix, with performer Noa, was an engaging virtual assembly that was enjoyed by all. The children had a wonderful time drumming and making lots of noise while creating beats.
Thank you to Sarah Barton and Erin Forker for their fundraising efforts. Thank you to all the families and friends who donated to the Fiske PTO. Our students love the hats!

Help Fiske Students get 100 Fiske Health and Safety Hero Photos!
100 Photos = All school Pajama Day
Our incredible Student Council is at it again. They are creating a bulletin board for Fiske Health and Safety Heroes. The Fiske Student Council is asking our community to take pictures of family members and/or friends wearing masks to be placed on their bulletin board. The Student Council wants to celebrate our community working together to keep everyone healthy and safe. Please send a copy of your pictures to your child’s classroom teacher or email them to Mrs. McGregor at mcgregorr@wellesleyps.org. If we can gather 100 pictures then Fiske students will have an all school Pajama Day! Thank you

Emergency Training
At Fiske your child’s safety is our first concern. Our safety plan begins with our locked security doors. Visitors are required to ring the bell and state the reason they are visiting Fiske. Visitors will be given directions through the intercom. In addition to the security doors, the entire school has an intercom system, classroom doors with locks, motion detector lighting, parking lot lighting, and surveillance cameras.
Along with these safety features, the Fiske staff works closely with the Wellesley Police Department (WPD) and other town emergency personnel to enhance our security protocols and training. This includes staff participation in an A.L.I.C.E. (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) training this fall. Throughout the school year, students will participate in practice fire drills, school evacuation drills and bus evacuation drills. All of these protocols are practiced so our students and staff are prepared for emergencies at school.
