Fiske Families,
It is Memorial Day weekend! This is the time of year when we pause to be thankful to all those who have died in the service of our country. Please take time this weekend to remember service members who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
A huge thank you to Co-Creative Arts Coordinators Teresa Peters and Laura Smith for arranging to have Ruby Bridges talk via Zoom with our fourth and fifth grade classes. Mrs. Bridges reminded students to follow the golden rule of treating others the way you would like to be treated. Mrs. Bridges also shared stories about her beloved teacher Ms. Henry. Mrs. Bridges told the students that the kindness of Ms. Henry kept the meanness that was happening outside of the school away from her. It was truly an amazing experience for our fourth and fifth grade students to hear Mrs. Bridges’ share her stories.
Thank you to Mrs. Hanlon and her class for collecting diapers for the Kids Backing Kids Organization. 4H was able to collect 4,407 diapers for families across Massachusetts, Thank you 4H!
MCAS
Congratulations to third and fourth grade students for completing the 2021 MCAS assessments. Our Fiske Falcons worked very hard and we are proud of them.
The 5th grade students have their last MCAS assessment on Tuesday, June 1st in science. Please be sure to have your children to school on time as testing begins first thing in the morning.
Field Day
This year Mrs. Gerst has arranged a COVID friendly Field Day for our students. On Wednesdayday, June 2 Kindergarten-second grade students will have their Field Day, and on Wednesday, June 9th. Third – Fifth grade students will have their Field Day. While it is not our typical field day, we are very grateful to Mrs. Gerst for making this happen for our Fiske Falcons.

Time to return the iPads!
As of Monday, June 7th students will no longer be taking their iPads home. We will be collecting the iPads and asking families to return all items associated with the iPads such as the chargers, keyboards and charging cords.

Staff Snacks
Thank you to the Merle and LaPlaca Families for the wonderful snacks for the staff this week. The teachers enjoy the treats throughout the week. We appreciate your kindness.
COVID Testing
Grade 3-5 parents and guardians please remember to send in your child’s COVID saliva sample on Tuesday, June 1. There will be no collection on Wednesday, June 2
