Fiske Families,

The school year is coming to a close. Mark your calendars,  during the last week of school Wednesday, June 16 will be a full day and Thursday, June 17 will be an early release day.

You are Invited to our Fifth Grade Video!

As is our tradition, we will be celebrating our Fifth Grade students  moving to middle school.  As part of the yearly tradition we have always  had all our students and 5th grade  families together in the gymnasium to watch a video of our fifth grade students and their baby pictures. Due to COVID protocols we  are unable to have this moment together in school. This year we will be hosting the video viewing on  Tuesday, June 15th at 6:30 p.m. The Zoom link will be sent out the morning of June 16th.  Please join us in this fun video tradition.

Creative Arts

Thanks to the collaborative efforts of Summer Hawkins and Shannon Smith, On Wednesday, June 2nd, Fiske welcomed meteorologist Sarah Wroblewski from WBZ-TV to speak about  weather and climate change. After a brief TV studio tour, she talked about the “building blocks” of science, art, math, writing and computer skills that help her do her job every day. She studies data to forecast the weather and talked about the importance of having confidence in her conclusions. Her comments also inspired “our next generation of thinkers and problem-solvers” with small changes that can have a big impact on our world. Students discussed climate change in their classes and went home with some facts and activities to try on their own. Ask your children what they learned!  This event was presented in lieu of an in-person science fair this year; we look forward to hosting our next Science Fair in Spring 2022! Thank you Summer Hawkins and Shannon Smith for making this happen for our students.
