Fiske Families,
December 2nd, how can that be? This year is flying. So much is happening so please review the important dates throughout this email.
Bookfair
The book fair is coming, the book fair is coming! Monday, December 12th-Friday, December 16th children will have the opportunity to purchase books or create a wish list during their library period. Parents will have an opportunity to purchase books on Thursday, December 15th from 5:30-6:30 p.m. before the PTO meeting. If needed, please contact our Social Worker, Michelle DeSantis, for information about financial assistance for your child to purchase books. desantism@wellesleyps.org
Literacy Information Session -Hold the Date!
On Monday, December 19th at 8:45 a.m. our amazing PreK-5 Department Head of Literacy, Jen Friedman, and Fiske Literacy Specialist, Kristin Stoetzel, will be hosting a literacy information session for Fiske parents/guardians. This will be an in person event with a Zoom option. Please come and hear how we are teaching reading and writing in our WPS Elementary Schools.
Picture Retake and Sibling’s Picture Day
Thursday, December 8th is picture retake day. For retakes, please send in your child’s original photo packet on December 8th. If your child did not attend Fiske on picture day they can have their picture taken on Thursday, December 8th. If your child is having their picture taken for the first time pictures can be ordered online or fill out the attached form and send it into the office.

If you are interested in a sibling photo and have already signed up online or sent in a picture form, the photo will be taken on picture retake day.
If you have not signed up and would like a sibling photo to be taken there are two options:

You can sign up online but may be charged with a late fee of $7.00

You fill out the attached form and return it to the office by Wednesday, December 7th
Please note that no sibling pictures will be taken without signing up online or using a photo order form that is returned to the office by Wednesday, December 7th. Please email Rachel McGregor at mcgregorr@wellesleyps.org if you have any questions. Thank you
Private School Applications
At times families make the decision to apply to private schools. If you are considering this option, please keep in mind that most applications are due starting mid-January through February 1st. January is a busy time for the teachers as they prepare for progress reports to go home in the last week of January.
In an effort to facilitate this process for all, please provide all application materials at least 30 calendar days in advance of the application deadline. This will provide teachers with the time to give the student recommendations the attention they deserve.
Please complete and return this Form Link either hard copy or electronically. If you complete a hard copy then return to the Fiske Office.
