Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year. The Fiske staff is excited to welcome your children on the first day of school on Wednesday, August 30th. A huge thank you to the Fiske Custodial Staff Steve McHale, Marcos Costa and Ian Groh for their incredible work getting the building ready for the first day of school.
Parent/Guardian Communication
Every Friday afternoon you will receive an email titled Friday Fiske News that includes upcoming events at Fiske. The Fiske PTO will send a Monday Update to families who have subscribed to the newsletter. This includes information regarding upcoming events at Fiske and in town. Please be sure to update all of your information in the Parent Portal so you will be able to receive the PTO updates
Kindergarten and New Families Lemonade Gatherings
A quick reminder that the Fiske PTO and Principal McGregor will be hosting a lemonade gathering for our 2023-2024 Kindergarten students and new students on Tuesday, August 29th. Kindergarten families are invited to join us on the primary playground at 12:30 p.m. New families are invited to join us on the primary playground at 1:30 p.m. We will meet in the gym if it is raining.
Art and Music on a Cart
As a district we sometimes have fluctuations in enrollment within specific schools that require us to implement short term solutions. Given the increase in Fiske class sections, we have had to repurpose our art and music spaces into grade level classrooms. Art and Music will still occur, but will be delivered in a push-in model to students’ regular classrooms, or hosted in other areas in the building such as the cafeteria when it is not in use. This is a short-term solution for the 2023-2024 school year. To this end, at the four “host” schools accommodating Hunnewell students last year and in the coming year, Bates, Hardy, Sprague, and Upham have all had to similarly repurpose a variety of spaces in order to accommodate our temporary, internal swing space plan. Back-to-School Night
Mark your calendars! Back-To-School Night will be held on Wednesday, September 13 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Further details will be posted in the next Friday Fiske News.
Fiske Western Round-Up
The Fiske Western Round-Up is just around the corner on Saturday, September 30, 2023. This is a wonderful Fiske PTO community event to support our school. A huge thank you to our Co-Chairs Jennifer Cohn and Christine Iracheta for all the work they have done to coordinate this event. Please see the Fiske Western Round-Up website for more information on how to donate, volunteer and/or attend.
