Hello Hardy Parents: Memorial Day Assembly: The Memorial Day Assembly was beautiful. Our students filed outside surrounding the flag and paid tribute to our county and the men and women who served and lost their lives for us. Meghan Slesinger sang our national anthem and the students sang along with her. Kevin Chang played Taps on the clarinet. Many Hardy students shared the meaning behind Memorial Day. A huge thank you to Karen Poole for creating this assembly and putting it all together for us. Parent Book Group: At our last parent book group we decided that our next book would be Odd Girl Out by Rachel Simmons instead of The Happiness Advantage. Unfortunately time is going by way too fast and the summer break is just around the corner. I am worried that parents who are interested in reading and discussing Odd Girl Out may not have enough time. However, I would like to hear from you. So, if you would like to join a book group for Odd Girl Out on Tuesday, June 9 from 6:30 to 7:30 please let me know by Wednesday May 27th. If I hear back from enough parents we will hold it on June 9th. If I do not then we will postpone the book group until the fall. Idling engines: When you are waiting in the car line please be sure to turn your car off if you are waiting. Once the line is moving you can restart. There is legislation on this matter that we need to follow. Parent ideas: On the topic of car line, I would like to welcome parents to join me for a brainstorming session on the topic of drop off and pick up. This will be held on Monday, June 15th from 3:00 to 3:30 in the library. Keys found: Keys to a Toyota with a Longfellow Club membership were handed into the office. Please let Janet know if they’re yours. Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! Thanks Charlene Cook, Principal Hardy Elementary School 781-446-6270, ext.2301 cookch@wellesleyps.org 293 Weston Rd.
