Hello Hardy Families:

We are very excited to hold another Day of Play next week on May 31st. The day of play engages our students in: cooperation, creativity, collaboration and communication. Below are some books that our students may have read in class to support the day of play:

  • Rosie Revere, Engineer
  • What Do You Do With an Idea?
  • This is My Dollhouse
  • What is a Box?

The video link is from Kid President’s video and it features the topic of being an inventor and supports the idea behind a day of play. Check it out if you have a few minutes…click here

We are officially finished with MCAS for the year. Our grade 3, 4 and 5 students worked hard and did their best on the multiple days of testing. The results for our students will be shared with parents in the fall. This year grade 4 students took the test on their iPads. Next year grade 5 will join them in taking the test on iPads with grade 3 doing the same in two years.

Our School Council has a few parents graduating which means we will be seeking new members. If you are interested in joining the Hardy School Council please contact me to learn more about the School Council. Our meetings are open so parents can join in any time. Our final meeting for this year will be Thursday, June 8th from 7:45 to 8:30 am. Click this link to learn more about the role of School Council and School Council members.

A couple of reminders…

  • Progress reports go home with students on the last day of school, Tuesday, June 20th
  • Parents cannot park in the front parking lot to pick up or drop off their children.
  • School safety assembly on Monday June 6th at 8:45- space is limited but parents are always welcome to join us for our assemblies.

Thank you and enjoy the Memorial Day weekend.
