Hello Hardy Families

Highlights from this past week
We had a School Spirit Day on Thursday and Friday of this past week as students wore their favorite Hardy gear to school. Go Huskies!

Second graders showing their school spirit!

Special Thanks
Thanks to all the parents who have supported Hardy Cares by purchasing items for identified needs within the Hardy community. In the first couple weeks of this program, we were able to meet many needs and it is great to see how the Hardy parent community has stepped up to help in this important way! Thank you!

Standards Based Report Card Information
As you review the first term report card that was made available on Friday, keep in mind this is a Standards Based Report Card. As such, students are assessed relative to end-of-year grade-level standards. It is very typical at this mid-point in the school year for a child to not yet be meeting standards consistently and independently. Our curriculum and instruction will provide ongoing support for students to meet the standards by the end of the year. If you have specific questions about your child(ren)’s report card(s), feel free to reach out to your child(ren)’s classroom teacher.

Half Way Day
As this school year there are 170 school days, the 85th day of school, or halfway point this year, is Monday, Feb. 1st. With this in mind, Monday and Tuesday we will celebrate half way day. As part of this spirit day, students are encouraged to come to school dressed with half and half in mind. Examples include – half formal/half casual, half stripes/half spots, mismatch socks, mismatch shoes/sneakers. Students are encouraged to be creative!

Have a great week!

Respectfully yours,
Grant Smith
