Hello Hardy families,

Here are a few updates of upcoming events:

Wellesley Celebrates STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics)

This week, October 18-22, is designated as the Massachusetts STEM Week 2021. This serves as a statewide effort to boost the interest, awareness and ability for all learners to envision themselves in STEM. This year the statewide theme is “See Yourself in STEM,” with a particular focus on the people who historically have been underrepresented in STEM fields, including women, people of color, first-generation students, low income individuals, English Language Learners and people with disabilities. The Wellesley Public Schools is participating in this event and as part of the roll out, students will learn about individuals who work in STEM fields who represent various forms of diversity. Also students will also be participating in challenges where they will participate in designing and building objects that help to meet certain parameters. Students will work in collaboration with their peers. These building projects will take place in art and library classes. We look forward to students seeing themselves in STEAM!
