School Council Update
On Thursday, we had our December School Council meeting. As part of this we revisited the School Improvement Plan for the 2021-2022 school year and discussed revisions to the draft plan that was introduced at our November meeting. We also discussed a School Council initiative focused on social-emotional learning that would include having 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students complete a questionnaire that asked questions such as: “In school, I learn how to manage my feelings when I feel upset” and “Students in my school get along with one another.” Students would answer on a continuum of: Always true, mostly true, mostly untrue, never true. The results from this questionnaire will be used to help identify areas for improvement and action steps to help address these areas for improvement. Stay tuned for updates on the work of the School Council in future principal letters.
Blue Ribbon celebration reminder
As a reminder, in recognition of Hardy being designated a 2021 National Blue Ribbon School, we are planning to have a special outdoor ceremony this upcoming Friday, December 10th (rain date of December 17th) from 8:40-9:00 AM. This will be held behind the building on the Hardy field. Parents and guardians are invited to stay after drop off and watch this program (as this is a brief program, this will be for standing room only for any parent/guardian attendees). We are looking forward to celebrating Hardy being the recipient of this prestigious award!
Have a great week!
Respectfully yours,
Grant Smith
