Dear Hardy families,

Highlight from the past week:
Over the past two weeks we have welcomed the incoming Hardy Kindergarten students and families. During the week of the 2nd, we hosted Kindergarten Orientation for parents. This past week, we had students in for Kindergarten Screening. We look forward to seeing the Hardy School class of 2028 and their families joining the Hardy community in the fall!

School Council Parent Reps for the 2022-2023 School Year
In looking ahead to next year, we are going to be in need of new parent representatives to serve on the School Council (due to parents of 5th graders moving on). The Council is composed of the principal, teacher representatives, parent representatives, and a community representative. The Council focuses on initiatives centered around school improvement. The Council meets monthly between October-May on the first Thursday of each month between 7:45-8:30 AM over Zoom. If you have any questions about the role of parent representative on the School Council or are interested in serving, please reach out to me directly.

Communication about COVID cases
Per the Nursing Department, Wellesley Public Schools are no longer having buildings send out daily COVID letters to school communities. Parents/guardians/staff are encouraged to monitor case counts on our district WPS COVID case/vaccination dashboard as found on the WPS website.

Student created RISE logos
As a way to help students to reflect upon the meaning of our school’s behavioral framework RISE (respect others, include all, show safe behaviors, encourage all), classroom teachers provided students with the opportunity to create their own version of the RISE logo. These are being compiled and will be put on display in a prominent location in the main hallway at Hardy, which will serve as a reminder to all of the importance of RISE.

Hardy’s original RISE logo served as a model for students.

Have a great week!

Respectfully yours,
Grant Smith
Principal
