Dear Hardy families,

Highlights from the past week:
*For 2nd-5th grade students, we had an instrumental music assembly.

*We had our first PTO meeting of the 2022-2023 school year. It was great to begin this collaboration of school administration, teachers, and parents working together for the good of our students.

Back to School Night
As a friendly reminder, we’ll be having Back to School Night on Wednesday, September 21st. The schedule will be:

5:45-6:05 PM- Principal & PTO welcome (gym)
6:10-6:40 PM- 3rd-5th grade (classrooms)
6:45-7:15 PM- K-2nd grade (classrooms)
*5th grade is offering babysitting services in the Hardy library during Back to School Night.  Details are in the newsletter.

Reminder- School Council Parent Representatives
We still have two parent representative vacancies on the School Council. The School Council meets monthly on the first Thursday of each month (Oct-May) from 7:45-8:30 AM over Zoom. The Council is comprised of the principal, a community representative, and an equal distribution of teachers and parents. Councils are tasked with assisting the principal by reviewing the school building budget and the school improvement plan. The Council also helps to support overall school improvement initiatives. We do have two parents who have expressed an initial interest, but if there are other parents who have an interest, or if you have any questions about this opportunity, please email me directly at smithg@wellesleyps.org. There will be an election to determine these representatives. Stay tuned for more information on this election in the coming weeks.

PickUp Patrol
As a friendly reminder, parents are reminded to sign up for PickUp Patrol. This tool is being used for reporting absences and notifying the school of dismissal changes. A letter with instructions on setting up the account was emailed to parents recently. Contact support@pickuppatrol.net for more information.

No idling reminder
As a reminder, per state law, cars are asked to be turned off while waiting in the pick up line at dismissal (before students begin being dismissed). Thanks for your cooperation.

 Have a great week!

Respectfully yours,
Grant Smith
Principal
