Time Capsule Update
As part of ongoing planning for the time capsule that will go into the new Hardy School building, we surveyed students to get their input on a few categories of favorite things as voted on by Hardy students of the present day.
Favorite song- Dynamite by BTS
Favorite children’s movie- Minions: the Rise of Gru
Favorite children’s book- Lion Lights- My invention that made peace with Lions by Richard Turere
Favorite recess activity- 3 way tie- basketball, big blue blocks, 4 square
In addition to this information, we also plan to include many artifacts that will teach the audience of the future about the present day culture and Hardy School. Examples of artifacts we’re planning to add to the time capsule include a school yearbook, photos of the current Hardy School building, photos of the groundbreaking ceremony, a sample of modern day technology, and a rolled up student backpack. We look forward to finalizing plans for the time capsule in the fall, before it is placed into the wall of the new building in January of 2024. Stay tuned for more updates on the time capsule in Principal letters that will go out in the fall.
Day of Play
On Monday, June 5th, we will have Day of Play at Hardy. Day of Play is a highly engaging STEM based day which involves students getting to design and build using cardboard and other everyday materials. Classroom teachers will be emailing parents with more information on what materials are needed for classrooms and we look forward to seeing what students create.
