Dear Hardy families,
HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE PAST WEEK:
Cradles to Crayons: We finished up our collection drive for Cradles to Crayons. Hardy families volunteered their time yesterday sorting items at the Cradles to Crayons facility. Kudos to parent organizers Cassidy Herren and Lorraine Pocon Ramos for their efforts planning this opportunity for our school!
HARDY TURNS 100!
Sunday, November 12th, Hardy is celebrating its 100th anniversary. We will be recognizing this milestone in a number of noteworthy ways. This includes:
100th Anniversary Banner
We’ll soon be putting up the banner pictured above on the front lawn of the school. We look forward to promoting this exciting milestone with the community at large!
All-School Meeting
As part of the 2nd grade social studies unit that focuses on the history of Wellesley, students have studied the opening of Hardy in 1923 and will be sharing their learning as part of an all-school meeting coming up at the beginning of December.
Celebrating Hardy/Lights Out event
Near the end of the school year in June, we’ll celebrate Hardy and its 100 years of history by hosting a light out event when families and community members can visit the school and say goodbye to the current Hardy building. Stay tuned for more information as we get closer to this event.
TURKEY TROT WALK & RIDE
On Thursday, we will have our annual Turkey Trot Walk & Ride to School Day. Students are encouraged to walk or bike to school.
Have a great week!
Respectfully yours,
Grant Smith
